How Southgate Logistics uses the information you give us.

Who we are

This website is run by Southgate Logistics (Jack Southgate), a rubbish clearance and removals business serving Northampton and the surrounding areas. We are the “controller” of the personal information you give us through this website. What we collect

When you use our quote form or enquiry form, we collect:

  • your name, phone number and email address
  • the postcode of the job and details about it (what needs clearing, access notes, preferred date)
  • whether the job is for a home or a business, and how you’d like us to contact you

If you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email, we will also have the information you share that way, including any photos you send.

How we use it

We use your information only to reply to your enquiry, give you a quote, arrange and carry out the job, and keep basic records of the work we’ve done. We don’t sell your information and we don’t use it for marketing without asking you first.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), we use your information because you’ve asked us to (taking steps at your request before entering into a contract), and for our legitimate interest in running our business and responding to customers. When you send a form, you also confirm you’re happy for us to use your details to reply.

Who we share it with

  • Resend: our email delivery service. When you send a form, our website passes your answers to Resend, which emails them to us. See the Resend privacy policy.
  • Vercel: our website host, which stores and serves the website and may log basic technical information such as IP addresses.
  • Google Fonts: the fonts on this site are loaded from Google, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address.
  • WhatsApp (Meta): only if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.

We will only share your information with anyone else if the law requires us to.

Cookies and storage

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. While you fill in the quote form, your answers are saved in your own browser’s session storage so you don’t lose them if the page reloads. This stays on your device, is never sent to us until you press send, and is cleared when you close the tab or submit the form.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and job information for 12 months after our last contact with you, then delete it. If you become a customer, we keep basic invoice records for as long as the law requires for tax purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To do any of these, email Southgate.jack@icloud.com. We’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
